Our Historical Hotel is Pete & Ma Johnson's restored boarding house. Each room is unique and includes period pieces from the town's heyday. For example the bed frames in each room are the originals. We also found it interesting the early century bed frames, predating 1923, are 4 inches narrower than today's Queen beds! True to that period the rooms are smaller and, we think, cozier than typical hotel rooms. The single beds of the past are the same size as today's twin bed frame. We have updated the past with luxury mattresses and high thread count linens, as well as thirsty, oversize towels that are provided in each of our rooms. You don’t have to sacrifice a bit of comfort and still get a fun authentic one of a kind Alaskan experience!
